Bombas Emica for the Iberdrola's hydrogen industrial plant

Iberdrola's Puertollano plant, located in Ciudad Real, has a production capacity of 3,000 Tm/year of renewable H2. It is powered by a 100 MW photovoltaic solar plant, a lithium-ion battery system with a storage capacity of 20 MWh and one of the largest hydrogen production systems through electrolysis in the world (20 MW).

PUMPS FOR IDUSTRIAL PROCESSES LEAVING TO CANADA

These two ISPK 32-200 pumps have been designed for the filter press feeding and wastewatertreatment line, ATEX zone 2, at a refinery in Canada.

These waters contain erosive (NaOH) and corrosive (Naoh-NH4-SO4) liquids with 15% solids, from sludge flocculation, with pH between 9 and 12.

Manufactured according to ISO 2858 and 5199, in 316 stainless steel, and with C5 paint system, they incorporate a sealing system with double cartridge and API-53A plan.

Felix Emica Bombas

One of the offices in Emica´s technical department is dominated by a portrait of a man who poses with a pen in his hands. I asked about the painting. Who is he?

In reply, I was informed that Felix was the guiding light of this 122-year-old company, and it was Felix that has made Emica what it is today.

Emica wishes you Merry Christmas

We are still in the middle of a pandemic, have shortages of supplies, rising energy costs, a volcano emptying a whole island, la covid passports, semiconductor chip and container crises, and no end of floods.

However, having survived six waves of covid and had up to three vaccination shots, we have still not fixed our troubles, but we are probing Mars looking for what we can find bottled for zero-sixty euros in our supermarkets.

2021 has certainly been a year of musical medley.

Emica Solar

It is not the first time we had to find floating solutions for different pumping needs in our 120 years of history, but this time we have gone one step further.

Our vocation to adapt to our clients, offering them innovative solutions for their future needs, has led us to develop a solution for solar power generation on floating platforms.

The EMICA SOLAR team brings together a deep knowledge of pumping applications, and extensive experience in the solar and naval sectors.

Emica Buzo

Working in this emblematic company brings surprises with a more than pleasant frequency. Sometimes we have on the other end of the line a farmer whose grandfather bought an EMICA pump sixty years ago, looking for spare parts. Other times, we can find our pumps integrated into the landscape, in the form of an artistic composition in parks, walks and corporate areas of companies that have been our clients since their foundation.

EK 80-20 type pump with 46 years of service

Repaired in Talleres Solano, Montilla (Spain)

Dedicated to the agricultural sector, the hardest that exists, due to precarious maintenance. Repaired in a 110-year-old Montilla workshop, founded by the great-grandfather of the current co-owners. (In the pic, Paco Molina, mechanic and co-owner).

Robustness and reliability of the equipment. Mastery in the hand of the mechanic. Honor badge for our country-girl, who is ready will go through her dressing room for makeup before going back to work, far away in the fields.

Master class UPCT

Last May, Emica Bombas was invited to give a Master Class at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT)

The Master in Mining Engineering includes a varied program of presentations, one of which focused on the typology of centrifugal pumps according to their application and on the handling of the Spaix pumps selector, by our colleague Irene De la Cruz, (Emica engineering department) and that aroused great interest because of its practical application.

Seal-less horizontal centrifugal end-suction pump, with magnetic drive and one closed radial impeller. Execution with its own bearing support (OH11) or close coupled with normalized motor. Selection of the most suitable materials according to the fluid to be pumped. Standard dimensions according to ISO 2858 and ISO 15783. Design parameters according to study.

Indicated for corrosive, toxic, high-value liquids or for those fluids which could be harmful for the health or the environment. Also used for explosive or flammable liquids.

bombas de arrastre magnético para Azsa (grupo Glencore)

In 2019, EMICA delivered the first 10 units of MAG-type pumps to Asturiana de Zinc to be installed at the plant in San Juan de Nieva (Castrillón- Asturias) The first ones were used to load tanks with sulfuric acid 98%, (Q = 50m3/h; H = 14m and 11kW motor).

In 2021, AZSA once again entrusted EMICA with the first CPK 32-200 units, also for 98% sulfuric acid and transfer between tanks designed for Q=10m3/h; H=40 m and 5.5 and 7.5 kW motors.
