EMICA takes part in the "Basque Eecodesign Meeting 2020", the largest event on eco-design and circular economy in southern Europe. This event brings together industrial product design specialists from all over Europe to analyze and discuss new challenges and business opportunities to improve competitiveness.

From ITS first edition, in 1996, the Marcelo Gangoiti Award rewards the entrepreneurial work carried out in the left river industrial and mining zone close to Bilbao. The prize is named after Don Marcelo, a person very involved in the social development of the inhabitants of this industrial area, where he left the Somorrostro Training Center as a tool for the integral education of the people of these localities and as a legacy to his person.

This year has been extremely intense, not only because of all the challenges that lie ahead, but also because of the enormous and warm reception that our 120th anniversary has had among our clients and collaborators.

They have been months full of interviews, events, awards ... without neglecting our daily commitments.

Each interview, each prize, only commits us to take Emica further; we could not disappoint the many and many of you who have been on our side.

Emica Bombas participates with the ACCIONA-Abengoa joint venture in the Cerro Dominador project (Chile), owned by EIG Global Energy Partners. It is a 110MW Thermosolar Plant (Tower CSP Technology - 17,5 hours thermal storage of molten salts). It is the first thermosolar plant in Latin America.

Emica Bombas is one of the oldest companies in our country. This year celebrates its 120th anniversary, more than enough time to go through all kinds of changes, from the turbulent and convulse first half of the 20th century, through the industrial reconversion of the 80s to the current technological explosion.

In spite of everything, Emica Bombas maintains the essence of its activity, adapting to the new times, and today it is present in more than 40 countries manufacturing for different industrial sectors.

Among the companies that were eligible for the III Edition of the SME of the Year in Bizkaia 2019, promoted by Banco Santander and the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce, EMICA Bombas was awarded the second prize as RESPONSIBLE COMPANY. This distinction highlights the performance of small and medium enterprises that contribute to the generation of wealth and job creation in Vizcaya.

On November 8th, the Major and authorities of the Abanto-Zierbena town council organized the event “From metal to people in 120 years”, during which an award was given to EMICA BOMBAS SL , in recognition of its 120 years of history.

Empresa XXI, a publication specialized in industry and economy, has published an article pointing out the consolidation of EMICA Bombas within the most demanding markets in terms of pumping specifications and requirements.

In this special year in which we celebrate our 120th anniversary, and in order to popularize our history and legacy, Emica will be in the media, reviewing our trajectory since the 19th and 21st centuries.
